As you will be aware both the Lions First XV and the Development XV are having a memorable season. The first team are now seventeen points clear at the top of Midlands 4 west (south). They will play Southam on Sunday 15th February at Leamington RFC in the final of the Warwickshire Shield, kick off at 2.15 pm. They will also compete in the final of the Midlands Junior Vase at Webb Ellis Road on the weekend of March 14/15. Our opponents will be decided when Cleobury Mortimer play Evesham on February 14 and the date of the final will be confirmed after that match. Our Development XV are at the top of their league and will play Coventry Welsh 2nd XV in the final of the Warwickshire Second Team Shield at Earlsdon on Sunday 1st March. There is a £3 entry fee for both Warwickshire finals.
The Midlands Vase Final is likely to be a very busy day. We need some additional volunteers to help with turnstiles, car parking, serving food and beer. We are hopeful that some of our minis and juniors will volunteer to act as ball boys. Let me know if you can help
In addition the club has been fortunate to receive some new seating that has come from the VIPs box at Twickenham. It is envisaged that these seats will replace those in the KUKA stand. However, we desperately need a large van or lorry to collect the seats from where they are currently being stored alongside the A45 near Coventry. If you can help with supplying transport or can direct us to someone who can help please let either Steve King, Doug Hutchinson or myself know as soon as possible. If we don’t collect them soon we may lose them to another club.
Look forward to seeing you at Webb Ellis Road very soon.
