Rugby Lionesses v Five Ways Old Edwardians RFCSun 11 Dec

RUGBY Lionesses proved too strong for Five Ways Old Edwardians when securing a 36-7 away success.

Heavy rain made conditions difficult but Rugby dominated the first half, led by captain Gemma Booker and Natalie Morris.

Debutant Lou Ruston wasted little time in getting settled in as she made the first big tackle of the contest.

The hosts enjoyed dominance in the scrum but Lionesses went ahead when Jessica Ham touched down and Kerry Jackson converted.

Caz, Claire Rylance and Vickie Purvis (2) all crossed the whitewash before the half time whistle and two more conversions from Jackson made it 31-0 at the break.

Ham added another try in the second half which Jackson converted but Lionesses spent the majority of it defending as Five Ways improved as an attacking force.

They did cross for a late converted try to earn some consolation but it was Rugby left celebrating.
