Rugby Lionesses v MellishSun 22 Jan

Rugby Lionesses 7 Mellish 53

After the initial disappointment of the last home game being cancelled on the morning of the match by the opposition, the girls were certainly ready for this match, and more importantly this was their first full game with all Lioness players, rather than loaned players that have been used before, from the league.

The Lionesses were up against a strong opposition in Mellish, who have been an established team for a number of years. However, after five minutes, the Lionesses scored a great try by Hollie Adams, who sprinted nearly the whole of the pitch to touch down. Sian Harrison, making her debut as the kicker, supplied the extras.

Unfortunately that was as good as it got in terms of points-scoring, but the Lionesses never gave up hope despite conceding a number of tries to their more experienced visitors.

Forward of the match went to Lou Rushton, whilst back of the match went to Lara Shippy Judd -Winn
